Variant Perception aspires to be right 100% of the time, but when we miss a call, we don’t camouflage it. Because we produce reports that are short and direct, there is no place to hide incorrect calls. It is tempting to write lengthy reports, which give you room to hedge, or to hang your hat on the one semi-correct sentence buried in the 50 pages of text.

Our investment ideas derive from a framework, and so does our presentation of those ideas. We limit the length of our reports, so we don’t have space to torture the data to make it seem as though we are never wrong. Prioritizing brevity helps clients digest the reports, and helps VP remain intellectually honest.
