Dow 11,000 or 13,000?

Euro Area Spreads

Today's coordinated actions by global central banks seem to be having a mostly positive impact on alleviating the gap between spreads on sovereign debt of EU countries relative to Germany.  As shown in the charts below, spreads on 10-year debt of Italy, France, and Spain have all contracted to varying degrees from their recent highs.

A Big Bounce

As shown in the first chart below, the S&P 500 has moved nicely back above its 50-day moving average (white line) today.  The index bounced right off of the bottom of its trading range (blue shading) on Monday and hasn't looked back.
